Making a clear business case for DEI that all stakeholders contribute and buy into, the GDEIB: Standards for Organizations Around the World is not only a state-of-the-art organisational DEI mapping and assessment tool, but also serves as a comprehensive framework designed to help you define, direct and refine your DEI efforts over time.
It is used by groups as varied as Heineken (The Netherlands), IESEG School of Management (France), Zurich Insurance (Switzerland), Ernst & Young (Japan), NorQuest College (Canada), American Institutes for Research (USA) and NHS Employers (UK).
Join this workshop to better understand how your organisation, department or unit — or those of your clients if you are a consultant — can successfully customise and use this freely available, expert-informed instrument (over 110 expert panelists from around the world have input into it).
This course is led by Nene Molefi, one of the GDEIB’s three co-authors, who will provide you with a thorough introduction to the tool, share case studies of how corporations and institutions in different global regions and sectors have successfully used it, and facilitate hands-on activities in which you begin assessing your own organisation’s efforts.
In this course, you will learn how to help yourself—and those you work with—so that you/they can better:
- Understand the breadth and depth of the GDEIB tool including its 4 groups, 15 categories and concrete action areas, and 275 total benchmarks, each at 5 levelsppreciate the concepts of Rank, Power and Privilege and how one can use rank positively to effect change and advance DEI.
- Appreciate how the GDEIB can be used to 1) map current realities, 2) inform strategies to reach future goals, 3) qualify and quantify these goals, 4) gauge progress towards these, and 5) help recalibrate goals/strategy as needed on an ongoing basis while 6) engaging stakeholders in the process.Understand the importance of inner (individual) work as a foundation for leading inclusively.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a Certificate of Participation listing 6 contact learning hours.
We will use a highly interactive, hands-on approach in which you’ll learn the theory and then try out various practices and tools to address a real workplace challenge which you’ll actively work on with your peers to discuss and share how you would approach such a challenge using a holistic approach to DEI.

Nene Molefi
South Africa-based Nene Molefi is recognized internationally for her work leading large-scale organisational culture initiatives in which corporations and government entities successfully transform themselves to diversity their (senior) stakeholder makeup while also promoting inclusion and greater equity.
Nene is co-author of the widely acclaimed Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion BenchmarksTM, serves on the board of The Centre for Global Inclusion, has been named in INSEAD’s Global Talent Competitiveness Index as an international thought leader on Diversity and Inclusion, and is an advisor to the Auditor General of South Africa.
In addition to her company’s consulting work, she has facilitated dialogue sessions and courageous conversations with boards, executive committees & senior leadership around the world clients such as Google, Estée Lauder, TotalEnergies, Volkswagen, GlaxoSmithKline, and DeBeers. She is known for helping participants navigate the difficult terrain of race and intersectionality in society and their workplace.
