Institute for Developing Across Differences

EARLY TO MID-CAREER COURSE

Diverse & Inclusive Team-Building
Annette Gisevius, Sherifa M.B.E. Fayez

Creating intentional spaces using nontraditional (and fun!) methods

OVERVIEW

This one-day techniques-focused workshop is designed to help you improve how you build cooperative, collaborative teams in creative ways that leverage team-member diversity. You will learn how to use targeted, unconventional approaches and establish purposefully-designed settings that embrace the differences (national cultures, ages, faiths, backgrounds, professional roles, etc.) found among team members as advantages rather than challenges.

Doing so can help build teams with a greater shared sense of inclusion and, as a result, effective performance.

Maja possesses unprecedented skills in empowering learners: she has personally designed a workshop in rhetorical self-defense for young Roma students, teaching them to speak out against discrimination. Out of the ten days training received, participants ranked Dr. Nenadovic’s training as the best and the most interactive in terms of learning and skills.

CONSIDERATIONS

Neuroscience is often considered a topic beyond the reach of daily practitioners, many of whom may not have a background in the hard sciences. While a general understanding of ?human biology and physiology? is helpful, and we will touch on the anatomy and chemistry involved, the core concepts we will address do not require a specialized understanding in this area.
